Mark C. Terrell, Director, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mark has experience in leading and advising a number of technology based organizations. Most recently he has been COO of Sionex Corporation, a VC backed company producing chemical and biological sensors using a MEMS based technology. Mark was also a co-founder and VP of Radiometers of Inframetrics, Inc, a company producing spectral radiometer instruments and night vision systems; currently part of FLIR Systems. Mark has designed and sold products in the electro-optical and thermal sensors market and successfully managed sensor companies for over 25 years. Mark has an electrical engineering degree and certificate in advanced engineering study from Cornell.
Dennis J. Dakin, Vice President Sales
Dennis has a thirty year track record of building sales and sales teams in hardware and food distribution sales to the food service industry. He held positions as founder/VP of Safron Systems a start-up frozen distribution and remotely monitored vending company, Vice Pres of Sales of Fastcorp the industry-leading ice cream and frozen food merchandisers, and VP of Foodservice/Vending Sales and National Sales Manager for Veryfine Products. He received a BS degree from Central Connecticut State University.
Chris Collins, Vice President Engineering
Chris has over twenty years in a leadership role delivering high tech products and systems. Most recently, he was founder and CEO of MAPIT Corporation, a pioneer in the school bus tracking and student accountability industry. Prior to that, he operated as the Sr. Director of Engineering at GTECH Corporation, world leader in the on-line lottery industry. Chris has also served as a technical/business advisor to several high tech companies in the money acceptance, automated self service parking, Far-East embedded design, and patient bar-coding industries. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, an MBA from Bryant University and accreditations in Supply Side and Complex Program Management from MIT.
Larry Hill, Engineering Consultant
Larry has held positions as founder/President, Vice President, consultant, and interim technical manager in multiple early-stage technology companies. He is experienced in design of embedded control systems, data communications for process control and data acquisition, short-range wireless control systems. He played a key role in the development of Modicon’s 484 and 584 programmable controllers and of MODBUS. He worked at Cyplex, MITRE, Modicon, and Controlonics. He holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT

Norman Meisner, Chairman of Board
Norman is a member of Beacon Angels and Launchpad, and a board member of IAM Technologies. Previously he was VP of Business Development or Sales for 9 startups in software and telecomm; yielded 5 acquisitions and one IPO; companies included Authentica, Net2Net, Synernetics and Ungermann-Bass. He was group leader at Mitre Corporation managing local area networking projects for the U.S. intelligence agencies; patent in LAN technology; chaired first symposium on LANs.
He holds an M.S. Engineering Management, Northeastern; M.S., Physics, Renssalaer Polytech, B.S., Physics, CCNY
Erik V. Pedersen, Director, and Treasurer
Erik is Managing Director of ProVista Partners, a consulting firm focusing on the launch phase of high tech start ups. He has previously been President and Founder of Star Solutions, a leading developer of software for the property casualty insurance industry. He was also previously CEO and Co-Founder of StarNex, Inc., a venture capital financed Internet portal for use by brokers in the employee benefits industry. Erik received a BS in Electrical Engineering at MIT and MS in Management at the MIT Sloan School.
Todd Hixon, Director
Todd is Managing Partner of New Atlantic Ventures. Todd invests broadly in information technology businesses, with emphasis on companies that use “deep” technology to create commercial value. Currently Todd serves on the Board of Directors of SepSensor, Tap ‘n Tap, GateRocket, MPowerPlayer, Ember, Velox Semiconductor, and EveryScape.
Before co-founding New Atlantic Ventures in 2006, Todd was a managing partner of DFJ New England Fund from 2000 to 2006, and previously a Senior Vice President with The Boston Consulting Group, where he managed two venture portfolios, built the Technology and Communications Practice to $100 million of revenue, and managed the firm’s information technology and knowledge management functions. He earned his BA in Physics from Princeton University (summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and he holds his MBA from HBS, where he was a Baker Scholar.
